Dear Friends,

Have you ever wondered what the Neillsville Area Players (NAP) contributes to the community?  We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the performing arts in Neillsville and the surrounding areas.  For example, we:

·         Support our Youth –

o   Award scholarships for the performing arts

o   Bring in Children’s Theatre opportunities to town, which allows children from the surrounding communities to participate in all parts of a production, giving them the experience and confidence they might not otherwise get *

·         Support our Community –

o   Participation in Community Events (Heritage Days, Fall Fest, Tree Lighting, Winter Carnival, etc.)

o   Caroling at local Retirement Homes and Care Centers

o   Donations to various fund raising events

o   Provide food booths for several community events

·         Create Theater Opportunities for hands on participation at all levels, as well as to simply enjoy –

o   Musicals                                              

o   Dramas/Comedies

o   Dinner Theaters

Are you curious about production costs?  Here are some examples. Musicals: range between $3,500-$5,000 just for royalties and scripts.  Well known shows cost even more. The royalties and scripts for Beauty and the Beast were over $6,000.00.  Mary Poppins came in at a little under $5,000.  Sets, props, costumes, venue and advertising are all an additional cost. Our last production, The Sound of Murder cost almost $1,000 for advertising alone.

As a non-profit, we feel the pinch of increasing production costs.  To keep our ticket prices at reasonable levels and to keep participating in community activities, we are asking for your support.  If you would like to help us continue to be an asset, please know any contribution will be greatly appreciated and will make you a member of the NAP family.  Just fill out and return the form below with any feedback/suggestions you might have.

*Note: Though we did not host Missoula Children’s Theatre in 2019 due to its increased cost, we do hope to bring in a children’s theater group again soon. We are checking into other theater companies, as well as additional funding options.
